Our APD patient program at Best Hearing San Diego is one-of-a-kind and was developed from over 20 years of experience treating individuals with auditory processing disorders (APD). Our unique two-part APD program is designed not only to identify the presence of APD, but also to diagnose the specific type of
APD present. We also provide parents and patients with the guidance and counseling they need to understand how APD is impacting daily life and which treatments are best suited to target and remediate each specific type of auditory processing disorder.
Following is a description of our APD Testing & Treatment Program
Part 1: APD Diagnostic Testing (2-Hour Appointment)
This appointment assesses the status of the auditory system, determines if APD is present, identifies the specific type of APD, and provides guidance for managing APD at home and in school.
Part 2: APD Counseling, Education & Treatment Planning (2-Hour Appointment)
Includes detailed education, an APD Parent Handbook and Resource Packet, and a custom-designed
APD treatment plan tailored to the child’s unique needs.
